Why Deadfriends??

A Flower in a Graveyard

I didn’t choose the name Deadfriends because it was cool or edgy (ew).

I chose it because it stopped me.

A name that didn’t clean up the mess too fast.
Something that felt soft and sharp at the same time. Made people tilt their heads and go, “Wait… what?”

A flower in a graveyard.

Deadfriends reminds me that life is layered.
That joy and grief aren’t opposites — they’re mirrors.

Laughing and, underneath it, you’re quietly unraveling.
Losing a loved one — physically or emotionally.
Living with parts of ourselves that we buried.

Our dead. friends.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog isn’t about fixing you. I can't do that.
It’s not a course or some polished “life coach” calendar.

It’s a break.

Rest.

You’ll find posts here about mental health, yes —
but also stories behind it:
Why we feel stuck.
Why we overthink.
Why sometimes joy feels heavier than sadness.

There’ll be blogs on anxiety, grief, loneliness, purpose —
and maybe a few on pop culture moments that unexpectedly hit something deeper in me (and maybe you too).

If you're gonna read shit on the internet, might as well make it somewhat beneficial (Pls read my shit tho).

I’ll write about what it means to keep going —
even when it's too dark to see,
even when no one claps for you.

By signing up, you'll get access to the full archive of everything that's been published before and new content sent straight to your inbox.
This is your library now, nerd.

I hope it brings you something, anything.

The Politics of Healing

This page is often radical,
because healing is and has always been political.
Especially for those who have had to fight to simply exist.

I believe in community care.
In Black liberation.
In questioning the systems that taught us to silence ourselves.
I believe in softness as resistance.
And in storytelling as survival.

If You're Here, You're Welcome

Cry some, laugh quietly, finally feel seen — You’re welcome here

If you've felt too much or nothing at all lately — STAY

You can heal, you can hide, you can hope — Help yourself to anything

This is Deadfriends.

For those of us Still becoming
Still learning
Still unlearning
Still growing

A flower in a graveyard.

I’m glad you made it…
